How Are Loyalty And Discipline Similar

Uncategorized Mar 06, 2023

Loyalty and discipline are both very important tenets. Most people with strong characters are both loyal and disciplined. And both are very important to have if you want to be looked up to and well respected. They are both very important to have if you want to have success and happiness in life. I think, besides both of them being very important, I think they both have a lot in common, let me explain why I think loyalty and discipline are related.

When you don't want to do something that is good for you, but you do it anyway, even if it takes work. Giving up playtime, or pleasure in place of progress and principle is pretty much, the definition of discipline, and living by those tenants, you are much more likely to go far in life, physically healthier, financially, more secure and you'll probably have a much more successful career as well. It seems like we're talking about only discipline, but a lot of times discipline and loyalty are inner twined. Let me explain.

Maybe you have a really good friend who is going to compete in a sporting event and the person he is competing against wants you to help train him. You know the money would be good, and it might give you more recognition, but if you did with that show a lack of loyalty. You might be asking "what is this have to do with discipline", let me tell you. when it comes to discipline and loyalty a lot of times you're giving something up now for the better good later.

Just like a lack of discipline means you will not focus on things that are better for you later in place of things they give you pleasure now. Loyalty does the same thing. Many times showing loyalty to someone or some thing means that you are sacrificing a pleasure or a sparkly thing. A lot of times while showing loyalty you will give up pleasure and sparkly things to give you more success later in a crazy way I feel like being loyal to your friend, your family, your favorite team, or even your country, isn't always easy, and a lot of times, it goes against the grain to do it, but you do it anyway because you know it's right.

I think the main difference loyalty is usually sacrificing some type of pleasure for someone else, while with discipline, you are sacrificing pleasure and sparkly things today, to have a better life tomorrow.

You might be asking what the hell does this have to do with martial arts, self-defense, or even fitness for that matter, I think, mainly it has to do with being a happier and healthier and better martial artist.
