Imagine the fastest Ferrari in the world, $650,000, a total beautiful beast. It can beat any car in the world from 0-60 in 1.3 seconds. But while it sits helplessly on the side of the road while a beat-up 1971 Volkswagon van passes it. Why, because while its owner was spending so much time on supping up its engine, making sure it was shiny and beautiful, they forgot to fill it up with gas.
So as powerful, fast, and beautiful this brand new souped-up Ferrari is; without gas in its tank, it is completely useless on the road. A fighter is like that, too; no matter how much time he spends on being stronger, more powerful, and more technical, if he doesn't have the cardio he needs in the fight, he will be like a powerful yet useless Ferrari sitting on the side of the road.
All of the Power and speed, and Technical Proficiency in the world are useless without physical conditioning. I'll say that physical conditioning is the most important part of any martial artist training. that goes for the street or sport. The difference is in the cage, if you run out of gas and your opponent starts pounding on you, you have a referee to save you. If you get jumped in the street and run out of gas, your dead!
