Training a fighter is like sharpening a knife. It takes a keen eye to use the right technique to make the knife sharper, and if you positioned the blade wrong on the stone, it will completely ruin the knife. We have to know when to press harder when to let up on the pressure, and always realize that if you over sharpen the knife, it becomes dull. You have to sharpen it so it is razor-sharp but realize that if you sharpen it past that point it starts to lose its edge, a fighter does the same.
When and how to sharpen the knife, you have to take a lot of things into consideration. For instance the more you use the knife, the more you will have to sharpen it. You do have to be careful about how to store your knife because it could lose its edge and get rusty.
And when you have had a knife for quite a while, you get it doll, you sharpen it, and you always want to keep it having an edge, but like I said you always want to make sure not to over sharpen it, or under sharpen it, and it is a very hard balance for a trainer. Because just like that knife blade, a fighter can be very easily over, or under Train,, and you always want to Make sure the peak, which means become razor-sharp, on fight night.
