You Have Two Choices

Uncategorized Sep 08, 2022

If you get attacked and get killed, that is the worst possible scenario.  If that is the case, then you get attacked, and kill your attacker that must be the best possible scenario, right?  Well, not so fast.  What if the family of your attacker pushes the DA to press charges and they sue you in civil court too?

Well now what if you get found guilty of murder, and you lose your house and your life savings in civil court... The best possible scenario just turned into a nightmare.

Well, the opposite side of that scenario is you dying, doesn't sound like a great choice, does it?

Choice number one, defeat your attacker without receiving any injury but lose every penny you own and spent 20 years in prison with a 300-pound sadistic violent offender with an insatiable sexual appetite named Brutus, and this is the best option in a street attack.  Don't forget the other option is being dead.

Now, what if I told you there is an option where you would not have to die or spend the next 20 years cooking ramen and spam, playing Yahtzee, and spooning with Brutus?

Here it is... Be aware of your surroundings and AVOID the incident altogether.  If you had paid more attention to your surroundings while you were walking home from the store at 9 PM, you would've noticed that there were five questionable-looking guys about 50 yards ahead of you, if you had noticed that instead of being preoccupied while texting and walking, you could've simply crossed the street and avoided any confrontation at all.  But you didn't, so you walked up upon them, and once that first blow was thrown, it was too late to turn back. Walking while texting, especially at night and being aware of your surroundings are mutually exclusive.

It's very simple to pay attention and be aware of your surroundings, but some people have to be preoccupied all the time, which gets very dangerous when you're not in the comfort of your own home. Being aware of your surroundings simply means open your eyes and look where you are and where you're going. That is not rocket science, but it could easily mean the difference between your life or your death.
