The H-Bomb Takedown...
So many great wrestlers, even Olympic gold medalist's seem to rely on their right-hand punch for their takedowns and often KO's. It is really great to see. If you were to watch Dan Henderson fight in his last 30 or so fights, you would never guess that his background was wrestling. He was best known as a feared knock out puncher.
Why is it that so many great wrestlers Yoel Romero, Henry Cejudo, Tyron Woodley.... and the forefather and namesake of the H-bomb, Dan Henderson forsake their wrestling and rely so heavily on their right hand? Why do these celebrated wrestlers decide to keep the fight standing when it seems they could easily take it to the ground? Could it be because knocking your opponent down, or out, is much more rewarding than tacking them down?
Thoughts?
